About Helly Visser

Natural Posture Running is a joint venture of ‘Running Adventures’ (Running Camps, Workshops & Clinics) and ‘Critical Speed’ (Triathlon, Marathon & Endurance Coaching). Master athletes Roger Davies and Helly Visser of ‘Running Adventures are the creators of Natural Posture Running and Coach Cal Zaryski is the expert in the field of human sciences.

Helly Visser (Bachelor and post graduate diploma in Education, University of Calgary) has been a master athlete for 20 years.
Through her experience in road racing, track and field competition she has gained extensive knowledge of training and performance. Her interest in physical education has been a motivator in expanding her field of experience in physical exercise especially in running. She was one of the starters for the biathlon competitions in the 1988 Calgary Olympic Games and has the NCCP Level 2 Biathlon.

Coaching since 1997 – Up till now she has been part of a coaching team with Roger Davies to coach master athletes in running and Track and Field.

Running Adventures, a Registered Partnership between Helly Visser and Roger Davies has facilitated numerous activities such as clinics, workshops and running retreats since 1998.

Articles published have had the topics of Masters Running, Active Lifestyle and promotional materials for the Calgary Roadrunners.

Numerous presentations to the ‘Olympic Youth Symposiums’ on Sport for Life were given. Presentations to running groups on the topics of injury prevention, masters and running have been in demand.

Event Facilitations She organized cross country races in Canmore in the 1990’s and the Millarville Country Mile Race in 2005. The co-chairmanship of the Host Organizing Committee for 2004 Canadian Masters Track and Field Championship was shared with Roger Davies. They organized the most successful Canadian championship ever since 1972. She has been an Athletics Alberta Masters Subcommittee member and a member of the World Masters Athletics Off-Stadia committee.

As an athlete she has 2 world records and Canadian records from 1500m to the Half Marathon. In the World Masters Athletics Championships she has placed regularly in first, second and third place since 1995. In the World Masters Games she won three gold medals. She has received numerous awards from Athletics Alberta as “the Outstanding Master Female athlete of the year”.
