About Roger Davies
Natural Posture Running is a joint venture of ‘Running Adventures’ (Running Camps, Workshops & Clinics) and ‘Critical Speed’ (Triathlon, Marathon & Endurance Coaching). Master athletes Roger Davies and Helly Visser of ‘Running Adventures are the creators of Natural Posture Running and Coach Cal Zaryski is the expert in the field of human sciences.
Roger Davies (Bachelor of Science Durham University) has been a master athlete for 25 years and through his experience in road racing, cross-country and track & field competition has gained extensive knowledge of training. His interest in sciences, physical exercise and the application of physics and gravity in running has been a motivator in expanding his field of experience in athletics.
Coaching since 1997 – has been part of a coaching team with Helly Visser to coach master athletes for the Calgary Roadrunners Club. An avid believer in the cross-training benefits of Yoga, Tai Chi, pool running, and snowshoeing.
Running Adventures - a registered Partnership between Roger Davies and Helly Visser has produced numerous activities such as clinics, workshops and running retreats since 1998.
Articles published have the topics of Masters Running, Active Lifestyle and promotional materials for the Calgary Roadrunners clinics and workshops.
Many Presentations made to running groups on the topics of injury prevention, master’s athletics and running have been in demand.
Event Facilitations Roger has organized many successful competitive relay teams and has been an Athletics Alberta Masters Subcommittee member since 2002. Was co-chairman of the Host Organizing Committee who organized the 2004 Canadian Masters Track and Field Championship, the most successful Canadian championship ever since 1972. He has initiated and been race director for a number of trail and cross-country races.
As an athlete he has the Canadian mile records for masters M65+ & M70+. He has competed In the World Masters Athletics Championships since 1995. In the World Masters Games 2005 won two gold medals. He is most proud of his two silver medals in 2005 for the 5000m and 1500m in the World Masters Athletics Championships. He was the Outstanding Athletics Alberta Master Athlete of the year 2005.
